About The Rabbi

Ira Brawer was born in New York, April 20, 1950. His family attended an Orthodox synagogue and he was Bar Mitzvahed at the age of thirteen.  Like many Ira strayed from his traditional Jewish upbringing during his teenage years.  In 1984, after a search through the Tenach (esp. Isaiah 53) he came to believe that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah.

He attended a Yom Kippur service at a Messianic synagogue in Denver, Colorado and observed Jews worshiping Yeshua in a Jewish context.  It was then that he fully committed his life to Yeshua.

Ira attended UMJC’s Yeshiva Institute and was ordained as a Messianic Rabbi by the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations in 1991.  Later that year he answered G-d’s call to plant a Messianic synagogue in South Florida.  Rabbi Ira and his family moved to South Florida and established Ayts Chayim Messianic Synagogue in Boca Raton. 

Rabbi Ira’s vision to establish a loving community where Yeshua is at the center, and Jewish life is celebrated in an atmosphere of love, acceptance, and strong friendships has been growing strong for fifteen years now.
